Immigration: Long Term Trends and America’s Future
Immigration Policy Center (IPC), February 2008, 6p
"This Immigration Fact Check discusses long-term immigration trends in the U.S. Immigration critics claim that immigration is out of control, and that today's immigrants aren't assimilating. This fact check, and the longer report it is based on, rebuts these claims, showing that the annual flow of immigrants appears to have peaked in 2000 and that projections show continued decline through 2015. Furthermore, if you look at meaningful indices of assimilation, you find clear indicators of integration and upward mobility among today's immigrants. Equally important, the immigrant population will be a key component in supporting the U.S. workforce as Baby Boomers retire." The Immigration Policy Center is a division of the American Immigration Law Foundation.
